What a clinic website really costs.

Every option, from a do-it-yourself builder to a full agency, with planning budgets and a dated vendor example. No sales pitch, just what you would actually pay and what you actually get.

Ask five people what a website costs and you will get five answers between four thousand rupees and four lakh. Different figures can describe completely different scopes. This guide separates them, so that when a number lands in front of you, you know exactly what you are being offered.

01

The four ways to get a clinic website

Almost every quote you will ever receive falls into one of these four. Prices depend on scope, working hours, software and support. Compare the written deliverables, not the label alone.

RouteIllustrative budgetWhat you actually getThe real cost
Do it yourself
Wix, GoDaddy, Squarespace
₹250 to ₹1,000
per month, forever
A template you fill in yourself. Drag and drop, no code. Your evenings. You supply the words and spend your own time learning the builder.
Template freelancer
Marketplaces, local shops
₹5,000 to ₹30,000
one time
A bought theme, your logo dropped in, your text pasted where the sample text was. It looks like the other eleven clinics who bought the same theme, and the words are usually still the theme's words.
Custom, one person
An independent designer
₹25,000 to ₹80,000
one time
A site designed for your clinic specifically, with the words written for you and the page structured around what patients actually do. You are dependent on one person, so their taste and their reliability matter enormously. Ask to see live sites before you commit.
Agency
A studio with a team
₹70,000 to ₹7,00,000
one time, plus retainers
A team, a process, a project manager, and usually marketing services attached. You are rarely the biggest client, so response times depend on the agreed support terms. Best value once you have several locations.

These broad bands are illustrative planning budgets from this guide, not a verified market survey or VerandaWeb price list. Vendor scope, tax, renewal rates and support can change the total. For one dated vendor example, Codingclave published ₹20,000-₹40,000 for a basic 5-7-page build on May 3, 2026 (checked October 4): published scope and price. This is their offer, not a market average or our quote.

02

What actually moves the number

Two clinics can get quotes that differ by four times for the same number of pages. These five things are almost always why.

Who writes the words

The single biggest hidden cost. If you are expected to supply finished text, the price drops and the site usually never launches, because writing about yourself is hard. If the words are written for you, you pay for those hours.

Template or blank page

A theme costs a few thousand rupees and an afternoon. A design made for your clinic costs days. Both are legitimate. Only one of them looks like you.

How many real pages

A single strong page can outperform a nine page site. Pages are not a measure of quality, but they are a measure of hours, so more pages costs more money.

Bookings and integrations

An enquiry form is simple. Live appointment slots, payments, patient records or a Practo connection are software, and software is where quotes climb fastest.

Photography

Stock photos of smiling strangers are free and patients see straight through them. Real photographs of your clinic and your team are the cheapest upgrade in the whole project, quoted separately by your photographer.

Who fixes it later

Ask before you sign, not after. Changing your timings or adding a service should take minutes. Some builds make it a paid job every single time.

03

The running costs nobody mentions

These are separate from the build, and they continue for as long as the site is online.

WhatIllustrative budgetWorth knowing
Domain name₹700 to ₹1,900 a yearUnavoidable. Check the renewal price, not the first year offer, and register it in your own name.
Hosting₹0 to ₹3,000 a yearA normal clinic site is small enough to host free on Cloudflare or similar. Shared hosting plans exist mainly because people do not know that.
SSL, the padlock₹0Free and automatic almost everywhere now. If it appears as a ₹5,000 line item, question it.
Maintenance₹0 to ₹1,000 a monthStatic files avoid WordPress plugin updates, but still need correct contact details, link tests and backups. WordPress needs supported core, themes and plugin updates; unpatched software creates security risk.
ChangesVaries wildlyThe one to ask about in writing. Get the cost of a small edit stated before you commit to anything.

The WordPress question. Most Indian quotes assume WordPress, because it is what most builders know. It is a fine tool, and it comes with a real obligation: plugins and core updates every few weeks, or the site eventually gets defaced. If nobody is being paid to do that, budget for it or ask for a build that does not need it.

04

Reading a quote without getting caught

Six things a quote should answer

  • Who writes the words, you or them
  • Whose name the domain is registered in
  • What a small change costs after launch
  • What happens if you stop paying them
  • How many revision rounds are included
  • Three live sites they have actually built

Five things worth a second look

  • The domain in the builder's nameThen it is not really yours.
  • A monthly fee with nothing that stopsAsk exactly what disappears if you leave.
  • A guarantee of first place on GoogleNobody can sell that. Ranking cannot be bought.
  • An SSL certificate charged yearlyIt is free almost everywhere now.
  • A portfolio of pictures, not linksAsk for addresses you can open and use.
05

So what should you pay

Here is the honest answer. For a single clinic in India that wants a site patients trust and book through, the useful comparison is the scope: writing, design, mobile checks, contact flow and handover. A low price does not prove poor work, and a high price does not prove a team is necessary. Ask what is included and open the provider's live work.

I quote a fixed number for each clinic once I know the size of the site, and I say it out loud before you commit to anything. You also see your finished site first and decide afterwards, so you are never paying for a promise. If you want to know where your clinic sits in these ranges, just ask me. I will tell you even if you never build anything with me.
